A Letter from Our CEO to You.

Greetings from Jackson, Mississippi,

On behalf of all of us here at U-Save Car & Truck Rental, thank you for your interest in our brand. Ours is a company that believes in community and the power of individuals like you. That’s why our business model is built around individual franchisees with a collective desire to turn hard work into success and satisfaction—all in the neighborhoods they call home. It’s also why our business is based in a place like Jackson, Mississippi.

Jackson is quintessential “small city” America—and the perfect home for the largest neighborhood auto rental franchise in the nation. Of course, it’s also the place I call home.

I haven’t always been CEO of this wonderful organization. Back in the early 90s, I was a stockbroker, but—perhaps a lot like you—my career wasn’t giving me the personal satisfaction I longed for. I’ve always had a passion for cars, so in 1994 I invested in my first U-Save franchise right here in Jackson. I started out with just 10 cars. Two short years later, those 10 grew to 150. Soon after, I bought the whole company. It was the smartest thing I’ve ever done.

The 1990s saw the beginning of what many call the “Buy Local” movement. For good reason, people began placing greater importance on supporting local businesses, and the sentiment has been growing ever since. (It took more than a decade for other national brands like American Express to recognize the movement’s potential. It wasn’t until 2010 that they had the powerful idea to call the day after Black Friday “Small Business Saturday.”)

Looking back, I recognize that my love of cars had led me to a company poised to benefit from a phenomenon just beginning to sweep the nation. The time for neighborhood-based auto rental had simply arrived.

Right place. Right time.

Since then, I’ve made it my highest priority to provide our local franchises with all of the tools they need to build success at a local level—to improve upon things that Corporate was doing when I was a franchise owner myself. For instance, as an owner I learned that having the right cars was critical to my success, so Corporate created a buyer’s program to provide professional car buying expertise and access to some of the most competitive rates in the industry. Likewise, our insurance program is the most progressive in the industry, managed by U-Save to deliver long-term stability, competitive rates and outstanding claims service. And that’s only the beginning.

The strength of our brand comes from the dedication of our franchise partners—people just like you.
